Dear Pastors

What is God Saying?

Since I published my Open Letter to David Farrier 4 days ago I have been encouraged at the incredibly warm responses I have received from many Leaders and other concerned Christian people.

So many folks in New Zealand are saying ‘it’s time’.

What has become immediately clear to me, is that many Pastors from across the church spectrum are saying, “we do in fact have a problem and that problem is beyond Arise and Hillsong (or Willow Creek or Mars Hill for that matter)”. The recurring sentiment is “now is the time to talk about it and now is the time to do some deep soul searching and now is the time to repent from our worldly ways and now is the time make some fundamental changes”.

To be honest this has been surprising to me especially the extent of it. It feels like Isaiah words all over again when he called Israel to repentance.

I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams
And the fat of fed cattle.
I do not delight in the blood of bulls,
Or of lambs or goats
. Isaiah 1:11

So, that said I wonder if you would take up this invitation.

Would you take a few moments to share with me your thoughts? What do you believe God is saying in this present hour? What is the Holy Spirit shining His light on?

What I would like to do is publish your responses in an article on my website and make available as a paper. The purpose being is that we may all benefit from the ‘counsel of many’.

Note: If you want to stay anonymous and I will definitely respect that but please be sure to note that.

Due date: Next week Friday 6th May 2022.

Word length: About 200 words (ideally).

Please write to me at alan.vink@leadershipworx.org.nz Alternatively if you would like to have a chat on the phone please text me and we can make a time to talk. My number is 021 562743.

Thank you
Alan
