Policies 2020 - 2023

The Colmar Brunton Poll of the 25th -29th July showed that Labour could govern alone with 67 seats in Parliament. Many commentators I have read on this poll say that historically at this time in the election cycle this poll is remarkably accurate. However, they acknowledge there is still 6 weeks to go and surprises can and do happen. BTW. If Labour did end up being able to govern alone it would be the first time any party has been able to do that under MMP.

What was also interesting in this poll was how the ACT Party polled, up from 3% to 5% giving Act 6 seats, the same number as the Greens. NZ First continues to fight for its life at 2% of the party vote, meaning they are gone unless Shane Jones pulls out a magic trick in Northland.

We do not have any reliable ‘hard data’ of how Bible believing Christians vote historically that I am aware of. Anecdotally, the majority of us are National voters. We know that is changing especially amongst millennials. But we don’t know by how much. Probably more than we realise.

When all is said and done it’s policies that matter followed by the track record of delivering on those policies. So here are the policy positions of Labour, National, Greens, and Act. Happy reading!

Finally, for those who live in or near to Hamilton you might like to come to the DEBATE I am convening between the two Hamilton National candidates vs the two Hamilton Labour Candidates.

The Topic is, ‘National say they are the Government to lead the economic recovery – true or false?’

Thursday 27th August at 7.30pm at Fairfield Baptist Church, 1011 Heaphy Tce. All Welcome.
