The US Elections
Yesterday on Q and A, the entire episode was dedicated to the US Elections which are on Wednesday this week (NZ Time). The whole hour is worth a watch but for me of particular interest was the interview with David Frump. It starts at 26.00 mins. He is a Republican and previously senior advisor to George W Bush. Fascinating insights!
POV. The conversations I am having at present on the subject of politics have never been so interesting and at times quite animated. I’m sure that is true for you as well? The purpose of this weekly blog is for us to consider the interface of the church and Christianity and the gospel with our culture primarily as it is in NZ but also globally. As Christians we are people with dual citizenship. Our first ‘passport’ is from the Kingdom of God and our second one is from the Government of NZ. Both are very important and both deserve our time as we figure out the ‘interplay’ between the two.
Currently I am on a quest to ‘urge’ pastors and Cristian leaders to double down on some extra reading, thoughtful dialogue and focused prayer. What is God saying in these unprecedented and somewhat crazy days?
